A Romantic, Rustic Wedding at Serra Plaza in San Juan Capistrano, California
Spanish architecture with an old-world style at Serra Plaza in San Juan Capistrano, California, shaped the ideal outdoor setting for this romantic, rustic wedding. "I wanted a romantic vibe that made you feel like you were in a completely different land, in a completely different time," Stacy Stas (32 and a writer for USA Network) says of her marriage to Jackson Hurst (37 and an actor) So they created this atmosphere through a vibrant palette of coral, peach, green and ivory combined with rustic details of wrought iron and wood. Stacy and Jackson got married in front of a beautiful fountain in the middle of a tree-lined courtyard, with market lights, chandeliers and moss hanging from above. Gather Events transformed the space for the reception by adding dining tables decorated with low and high centerpieces, filled with dahlias, roses and peonies. Guests found their escort cards displayed on a wired board, with a vintage heart-shaped key attached that doubled as wedding favors. The dessert table ranged from the traditional brownies and cookies to Rice Krispies dipped in chocolate, but the two-tier ivory wedding cake wrapped with colorful flowers took the prize. Our favorite detail had to be the Monique Lhuillier dress Stacy chose that kept her looking classy while making her stand out from the crowd. "I wanted to have a soft, romantic, natural look," Stacy says. "My goal was to be able to look back on these pictures years from now and not say 'What was I thinking?' "
