A Romantic Summer Wedding at Bonnet Island Estate in Manahawkin, New Jersey

Devon Vanderslice and Jake DeVries spent about 1.5 years planning the wedding of their dreams. "We wanted our wedding day to be a perfect representation of who we are and our relationship," Devon says. "Part of that was keeping it light and whimsical, but in an elegant way. We wanted wildflowers that were bright and beautiful, with many pops of pinks, peaches and a lot of greenery." The ceremony took place in front of a light stone fireplace, and the couple stood beneath a whimsical arch of greenery and bright flowers. The reception continued the theme, with simple dining tables in a neutral color palette. "The head table was my favorite space in the whole reception," Devon says. "We used farm tables donned with different colored glass bottles of all shapes and sizes, lots of candles and flowers." A rustic paper escort card display with greenery, an elegant wedding cake with colorful flowers and a dangling chandelier rounded out the decor. One of the wedding highlights was a wine box ceremony: The couple and their parents, siblings, friends and officiant wrote letters, which were placed in an engraved wood box with a bottle of wine. The couple plans to open the box and share the wine on their five-year anniversary.
