A Romantic, Tropical Wedding at Baba Beach Resort in Thailand
Actress Taya Rogers and professional soccer player Mika Chunuonsee wed in a tropical, romantic wedding at Baba Beach Resort. "We both always knew we wanted to get married on the beach, and Thailand has such beautiful beaches that we couldn’t resist," Taya says. "Also, Baba Beach Club holds special significance because it is also where Mika proposed. Our reception was just a few feet from exactly where he surprised me the year before." The day abounded with tropical elements, from the pink-themed wedding invitations to Taya's bouquet of protea and palm leaves. The bride also wore a sparkly form-fitting wedding dress and elegant hair accessory, while Mika donned a beige suit, matching tie and pink boutonniere. The waterfront ceremony took place underneath a show-stopping wedding arch of palm leaves and tropical flowers, which extended all the way up the aisle. Taya and Mika took advantage of the sand and left their shoes behind. "After the ceremony, while we took pictures with our families and friends, our guests enjoyed a little beach lounge area that had been set up in the sand halfway between the ceremony and the reception," Taya says. The reception consisted of large dining tables with white linens, beige runners and a mix of tall and short centerpieces. String lights and wicker lights hung overhead, and tropical trees surrounded the space. Guests found their seats with banana leaf place cards, dug into a pink tiered wedding cake adorned with flowers and participated in a sparkler send-off for the newlyweds.
