A Romantic Tuscan Wedding at the Quercia al Poggio in Florence, Italy
Marleen Grovenstein, 27, a notary office employee, and Jasper Uiterkamp, 29, a manager, got engaged on the beach at sunset during a vacation in Gambia, Africa. The traveling couple wanted to have a European destination wedding, so they decided to have a romantic celebration surrounded by the beautiful Tuscan hills of Italy, which was photographed by Funky Bird Photography. Marleen and Jasper had their reception at the Quercia al Poggio event venue in Florence, Italy after their ceremony at a chapel nearby. "From the moment we stepped out of the car at the chapel during our location hunt, I got emotional, and we both knew that this was the place where we would give each other our "I do,"" Marleen recalls. From her wedding day fashions, Marleen chose a white bridal gown from Italian designer Nicole Suppose and wore a tiara on top of her veil. Ever since Marleen had been a little girl, she told everyone that she would wear a tiara on her wedding day, so she went ahead and did! To create a romantic and classic look, the couple chose to focus on the color purple for the wedding day decor and accents. At the reception, the couple, family and friends enjoyed a seven course dinner together with a wide array of dishes to try. "Enjoy every part of the preparations and the day itself, because it is over before you know it," says Marleen.
