A Romantic Vintage-Inspired Wedding at the Mansion at Tuckahoe in Jensen Beach, Florida

Julia Drumm’s (31 and a high school teacher) 30th surprise birthday party marked about a decade since she met Kyle Saye (34, an aviation mechanic) and the couple’s engagement. “Kyle nervously told Julia that he wanted to make her the happiest man in the world. While she can't speak for the men of the world, he is certainly on his way to making her the happiest woman,” says Julia. With a 20 month engagement, the couple had plenty of time to plan their romantic and vintage-inspired wedding. “I wanted a romantic, dreamy feel with soft peaches, pinks, creams, pearls and lots of lace!” says Julia. To complete this vision, the couple had a tented reception filled with everything of their choosing. Peach roses and pink peonies were wrapped with lace and strings of pearls along the couple’s ceremony aisle. They were wed under an arch of willow vines woven with the couple’s wedding flowers as the a string quartet played in the background, says Julia. For a vintage and personal touch, the couple also incorporated family photos throughout the day’s decor. “I gathered old photos from my husband's family and my own, including both of our parents' and grandparents' wedding photos,” says Julia. “These were framed in an assortment of vintage gold frames.” Similar gold frames housed the couple’s 94 escort cards, this way their guests could hold new memories in a special place. Until then, the couple recounted a few moments with a slide show of their relationship and guests during the cocktail hour. The couple's favorite quotes and song lyrics were then placed on luminaries throughout the reception. ?Pink linens, lavender napkins and low floral centerpieces in similar hues were placed among them. As a way to capture the day in a more permanent fashion, each family member and friend signed a squares of fabric that was made into a memory quilt now. “It is on our bed to remind us every day of how amazing our special day was,” says Julia.
