A Romantic, Book-Themed Wedding at Liberty Warehouse in Brooklyn, New York

For Rebecca "Becky" Teitel (a documentary producer and director) and Brian Mahanna (an attorney for Zuckerman Spaeder) who met as undergraduates at NYU, New York City has always been home. "It just felt like the right place for us to get married," says Becky. The couple chose Brooklyn's Liberty Warehouse (an industrial building on the water in Red Hook) because it felt like the perfect combination of the things they love most about the Big Apple: its romance and grit. With their venue solidified, Becky and Brian went about creating the timeless, romantic vibe they envisioned for their wedding. They pulled it off with organic shades of white, lush floral arrangements, plenty of candles and subtle nods to their favorite pastime: reading. "We aren’t formal people, so we didn’t want anything to feel formal or forced. What we like is romantic, vintage and natural, so we tried to make everything align with those images and feelings," explains Becky. After a sunset ceremony with the Statue of Liberty as their backdrop, guests enjoyed an open air cocktail hour on the water followed by a three-course meal and a wild dance party. "The dance floor was packed the entire night," recalls Becky.
