A Romantic Summer Wedding at New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx, New York

Allison Pohl (31 and a musician) and Alistair MacRae's (39 and a musician) wedding echoed the romance of a wild garden in New York City. Their venue, the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx, New York, needed little decorating, so Allison and Alistair kept their design to a minimum. Instead, they focused on highlighting the garden's natural beauty with their floral design. "I wanted all the bouquets to be messy and un-manicured and wild-looking," Allison says. Her florist from Bride and Blossom created a breathtaking bridal bouquet in lavender, peach, ivory and burgundy. The loose arrangement featured roses, lisianthus and ranunculus alongside eucalyptus leaves and other leafy greens. The bridesmaids carried smaller versions of Allison's bouquet. Since they all wore floor-length dresses in different bold colors and styles, their bouquets were neutral in soft ivory and blush to match their distinct looks. Allison and Alistair's ceremony, which took place outdoors under a white pergola, was also decorated with pretty and wild flowers. Chairs on the ceremony aisle had small bouquets of lavender roses and white stock tied to them with organza ribbon, and the altar area featured tall purple and white arrangements with branches to add height to the space. There were so many pretty details at Allison and Alistair's wedding, but some of our favorites were the groomsmen's powder blue suits, which were perfect for the summer wedding. Their look was second only to Allison's simple yet stunning Suzanne Neville wedding dress. Aaron and Jillian Photography was there to capture the day.
