A Romantic Wedding at Silverleaf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona
The wedding day of McKenzie Redman (21 and a Pilates instructor) and Zach Line (23 and a professional football player for the Minnesota Vikings) was full of emotion and romance. “I was born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, so it was a no-brainer on the city where we were going to get married,” McKenzie says. The ceremony took place at the church where the bride was raised, and the couple hosted their cocktail hour and reception at Silverleaf, where guests could mingle indoors and outdoors while enjoying the Sonoran desert backdrop. “I chose the venue because it’s a mile from the home I grew up in, and in the most beautiful location,” McKenzie says. The blush bridesmaid dresses inspired the soft, neutral color palette of the wedding and the warm, cozy reception vibe. McKenzie’s wedding dress matched the romantic atmosphere: She wore a ball gown with a chapel train in a style fit for a princess. “I only went dress shopping once, and the dress I chose was the very first dress I tried on,” she says. To make the wedding day even more meaningful, McKenzie surprised her mother with a mother-daughter dance at the reception. “We danced and cried to ‘Mama’s Song’ by Carrie Underwood,” McKenzie says. “That was one of my favorite moments from the day because it was so special for so many reasons. Everyone was in tears by the end of it.” At the end of the night, McKenzie and Zach ran through an aisle of sparklers and hopped into a vintage getaway car. The bride’s advice to future couples: “Make sure to take a couple of minutes here and there to be alone with your new spouse, just to take it all in together.” See the sweet details captured by Jenny Bishop, associate of Jennifer Bowen Photography, below.
