A Rooftop Wedding at B&B Butchers in Houston, Texas
Kenna Lewis (36 and works in pharmaceutical sales) and Donald Rigaud (35 and works in veterinarian sales) met when Donald spontaneously tagged along on his best friend’s work trip to Florida. “I am going to marry that girl,” Donald remembers telling his friend shortly after meeting her. Five years later, they planned a candlelit rooftop party that blended New Orleans (his hometown) with Houston (hers). Neither wanted anything too traditional. “We wanted a short, sweet ceremony while our guests were enjoying a cocktail,” Kenna says. Kenna carried a hand-tied bouquet of white roses, hydrangeas and seeded eucalyptus. The couple served hors d’oeuvres instead of a sit-down dinner. Guests had their pick of sweet treats that they were encouraged to take home in to-go bags, like warm beignets and Donald’s favorite mini pecan pies. A guitarist the couple had discovered while out one night strummed popular cover songs. At the end of the night, the newlyweds made their getaway in a classic Bentley. “It was the best celebration,” Kenna says.
