The Bride Teresa Pianta, 32, a hand surgery fellow at the Philadelphia Hand Center The Groom Mark Jewell, 37 The Date October 30 A fall wedding date, as well as the couple’s love for the outdoors and hiking, inspired a woodsy theme complete with shades of orange and brown.

The fall-inspired bouquets of berries, dahlias and orchids matched Teresa’s.
Teresa’s mom made black cat bags like this one for all the kids at the wedding. They were filled with toys, games and hand-knitted hats to keep them warm.
The candy buffet outside the reception tent was decorated with lit-up pumpkins carved to spell out “Teresa [heart] Mark.”
Escort cards with plantable wildflower seeds pressed into the shape of a leaf were displayed in the slats of an old wooden door.
Designed to resemble a birch tree, the cake had sugar-made leaves and Teresa’s and Mark’s initials “carved” on the side.
These DIY programs were wrapped in a-colored card stock, stamped with a leaf design and tied together with raffia.
Teresa wore an ivory gown with a fitted bodice and full skirt. She finished her look with a long veil that her mom made.
Teresa held calla lilies, orchids and roses accented with fiddlehead ferns.
Dinner was served inside a heated tent decorated with orange uplighting. Guests sat at tables topped with brown and tan linens.
The groom and groomsmen wore matching brown-and-orange-striped socks.
For a rustic look, the centerpieces included birch-bark containers and votive candles surrounded by a mix of orange and red flowers.
All of the ladies at the wedding found orange pashminas tied to their seats—a fitting favor for the chilly fall evening.
