A Rustic Autumnal Wedding at Chattooga Belle Farms in Long Creek
When Elizabeth Callaway (26 and a physical therapist) signed up for a running group through Half Moon Outfitters, she was convinced she would meet her "soulmate" Hunter Orvis (28 and a nursing student) who had just sold her friends some running shoes. Hunter was indeed leading the run and seven miles later he asked Elizabeth out on their first date. As an outdoor enthusiast, Hunter knew to propose in the woods and popped the question during a surprise trip to Pisgah National Forest after four years of dating. On a chilly November night, Elizabeth and Hunter exchanged vows at Chattooga Belle Farms in Long Creek, South Carolina surrounded by vibrant autumnal foliage and pine cone accents. Elizabeth's green bridal bouquet was full of ferns, baby's breath, simple grasses and pine cones and accessorized her textured gown with her deceased grandmother's fur stole. The woodsy centerpieces consisted of wood carvings cut by the bride's brother topped with mason jars filled greenery and cotton pods. "A cold front came through on the day of our wedding, but the scenery was spectacular!" says Elizabeth. "With warm beverages, a fire place and a fire ring lit all night, we tried to stay warm!"
