A Rustic Backyard Wedding at a Private Residence in British Columbia, Canada
Daniel (23, a Welder) surprised Laura (22, a Student) on the yearly anniversary vacation by offering a gift when the pair had already decided on no gifts. "I said "Sure," and he started pulling things out of his bag. The first item was a memory from our first anniversary together; I was so surprised. Then the next item was a memory from our second year, and then our third year. By then I was starting to wonder a bit as the fourth year was coming up and we had no memories yet! Then he says "For our fourth year..." and proceeded to get on one knee and asked me to marry him!" Laura recalls happily. The couple decided to hold their wedding on Daniel's parent's farm, overlooking open fields and the beautiful British Columbia mountains. Inspired by the locale, the couple went with a rustic theme with an outdoor, tented reception and small country details like the bridal party wearing cowboy boots. Soft, romantic touches like the mint dresses the bridesmaids wore, the pink and cream rose bouquets and Laura's beaded and lace A-line wedding dress brought together the two themes together perfectly. "Our wedding had a very relaxed and laid back feel and that is really what I wanted," Laura says.
