A Rustic Beach Wedding at Lewes Canalfront in Lewes, Delaware

After meeting on OkCupid, Beth (25 and an elementary school counselor) and Aaron (28 and a technology coordinator at Marsh and McLennan Companies) said "I do" in a beachfront setting in Lewes, Delaware. Since she was 7, Beth had been spending summers in Lewes, staying at her uncle’s beach house. “When I took Aaron to see Lewes after a few months of dating, we both agreed it would be perfect to have a wedding there someday,” she says.

Nautical details like the canal-front ceremony, surrounded by boats and natural beach greenery, and rustic elements like the trees around the reception’s winery location added to the couple’s vision for an outdoors-influenced day.

And, of course, there were tributes to the couple’s beginnings: “Since we met on OKCupid, we used arrows as much as we could—on our invitations, cork name cards, cupcake and cake toppers, and signs reading 'love,' ” Beth says. —Allie Volpe

Beth wore a lace detailed high-neck mermaid-style dress from Allure Bridal in Columbia, Maryland. Her bouquet, by Bayberry Flowers, consisted of green hydrangeas, white roses, white rananuuclus, green succulent blooms, green trick dianthus, lace flower, blush hypericum berry, rosemary, dusty miller and Italian ruscus accents wrapped in natural twine with the stems showing.
Aaron proposed with a cushion-cut, solitaire ring with a white gold band from Mervis Diamond Importers. Beth's wedding ring is her grandmother's platinum, diamond-encrusted band. Aaron's wedding ring is platinum with their wedding date engraved inside.
To show a bit of personality, Aaron and his groomsmen wore quirky socks, like a 'Where's Waldo' pair. Aaron's had blue polka dots with red tips.
The only decorations for their ceremony included white chairs for guests to sit on. Beth and Aaron utilized the nature of the canal to outfit the space. The ceremony was officiated by Beth's high school Italian teacher.
As Beth and Aaron exited the ceremony as husband and wife, guests blew celebratory bubbles, handed out by the groomsmen before the ceremony.
Decorated with the bridal bouquets, Beth and Aaron's sweetheart table was lined with burlap with a flag displaying the couple's wedding date.
Each reception table featured a terra-cotta pot filled with rosemary, lavender, mint and eucalyptus, or white, green and pale yellow flowers with hydrangeas, roses, lisianthus, succulent blooms, hypericum berries, dusty miller and rosemary.
A nod to their OkCupid beginnings, Beth and Aaron's cake topper featured a fun Cupid's arrow. The cake, made by Carolina Sugar Fairy, was funfetti with white fondant, topped with green succulents. They even had a cake cutting song: "Sweeter Than This" by Katie Herzig.
In addition to the wedding cake, Beth and Aaron had cupcakes, made by Carolina Sugar Fairy. Flavors included carrot cake with cream cheese icing, hot apple cider with honey icing, chocolate with cookies and cream filling and vanilla bean icing, and strawberry cake with strawberry kiss icing.
