A Rustic, Bohemian Wedding with DIY Details at Aldworth Manor in Harrisville, New Hampshire

New Hampshire natives Mary Potter (27 and a floral designer) and Brian Paul O’Neill (28 and a welder) fell for the 170-acre grounds of Aldworth Manor at first sight. “I was enamored by every inch of the property,” Mary says. Located in the groom’s hometown, it was the ideal spot to gather 140 guests. With the help of friends and family, they crafted an intimate garden party that reflected their love for the Granite State. The groom made the invitations, wedding bands and wood bar, while the bride dyed the cheesecloth draped on tables. A close friend made Mary’s vintage-linen wrap dress that the bride paired with a floral crown. Wanting to carry the secret-garden feel of Aldworth Manor into the reception tent, Mary and Brian Paul tied dried flowers to napkins and topped tables with loose, natural centerpieces of eucalyptus, globe thistle, gloriosa lilies and roses. Their first dance brought the couple, who met in middle school, full circle. “He was the first boy I ever slow danced with,” Mary says.
