A Rustic-Chic Backyard Wedding at a Private Residence in Florence, South Carolina

Michael Wolfe (27 and employee benefits consultant) hit on Erin Blackmon (27 and in flexible packaging sales) at a local bar and the pair chatted for a few minutes but didn't end up exchanging numbers. A few weeks later, they ran into each other in a completely different town and Michael took the unexpected opportunity to ask for Erin's number. After dating for a couple of years, Michael proposed on Friday the 13th during a winter walk in the park. "No one else was around—just me and him—and I immediately burst into tears of joy as I said yes," says Erin. I remember hugging him for the longest time and not wanting to let go. When I did, he put his grandmother's diamond on my hand and I have never felt more special than I did in that moment." For their shabby-chic wedding, the couple decided to host a backyard reception at Erin's childhood home. Neutral colors with pops of blue and pink as well as distressed accents added a rustic feel to the tented affair. "We picked my parent's house because some of my best memories are in that yard, and now I can add my wedding reception to the top of that list," says Erin. "It's my favorite place in the world, and we wanted to share it with everyone we love!" The couple decorated with an eclectic mix of burlap, lace, mason jars, horseshoes, lanterns and whiskey barrels. "With the backdrop of my parent's barn—and all of our horse—we definitely played up our rustic-chic theme," says Erin. "My parent's live in the country and we've had horses all of my life—it was only fitting for them to be around!"
