A Rustic, Contemporary Wedding at Blooming Hill Farm in Blooming Grove, New York

Michele Fernandez and David Edelman planned a chic rustic soiree in the rolling hills of Blooming Grove, New York, for their early-August wedding. With its lush green fields and quaint country charm, Blooming Hill Farm provided the perfect backdrop for their intimate soiree. The early hours of the day threatened rain, but the skies cleared and the sun shined through for their ceremony and reception, illuminating the natural landscape with its warm rays. The pair exchanged vows at forest’s edge, with a close family friend officiating. “The ceremony was so special,” Michele says. “We decided to have a family friend, Rob Gordon, officiate our wedding. The Gordons have known David’s family for many years, and it was truly such a personal, heartfelt ceremony. Rob really knocked it out of the park.” The couple created their own alfresco chapel with the help of log benches, an ivy-trimmed wedding arch and bundles of wildflowers and blue hydrangeas. After saying “I do,” the newlyweds whisked guests off to a nearby Sperry tent for the reception. Bistro lights twinkled from the structure’s wooden beams, casting a warm, inviting glow over burlap-covered tables dotted with vibrant wildflowers. A live band provided the tunes and kept the dance floor packed all night. At the end of the evening, the newlyweds and their guests gathered outdoors, where a fireworks display lit up the night sky. —Libby MacCarthy
