Michele Fernandez and David Edelman planned a chic rustic soiree in the rolling hills of Blooming Grove, New York, for their early-August wedding. With its lush green fields and quaint country charm, Blooming Hill Farm provided the perfect backdrop for their intimate soiree. The early hours of the day threatened rain, but the skies cleared and the sun shined through for their ceremony and reception, illuminating the natural landscape with its warm rays. The pair exchanged vows at forest’s edge, with a close family friend officiating. “The ceremony was so special,” Michele says. “We decided to have a family friend, Rob Gordon, officiate our wedding. The Gordons have known David’s family for many years, and it was truly such a personal, heartfelt ceremony. Rob really knocked it out of the park.” The couple created their own alfresco chapel with the help of log benches, an ivy-trimmed wedding arch and bundles of wildflowers and blue hydrangeas. After saying “I do,” the newlyweds whisked guests off to a nearby Sperry tent for the reception. Bistro lights twinkled from the structure’s wooden beams, casting a warm, inviting glow over burlap-covered tables dotted with vibrant wildflowers. A live band provided the tunes and kept the dance floor packed all night. At the end of the evening, the newlyweds and their guests gathered outdoors, where a fireworks display lit up the night sky. —Libby MacCarthy

Michele’s bouquet was a textured mix of full, soft blooms, including dahlias and lisianthus, accented with wildflowers, scabiosa and cascading vines. Arranged by GBC Style Flowers, the bouquet captured the untamed elegance of Blooming Hill Farm’s rural landscape.
Taking cues from the natural landscape surrounding Blooming Hill Farm, Michele had her bridesmaids don ethereal floor-length gowns from Reformation in a dramatic shade of dark green. The girls paired the dresses with romantic half-up hairstyles and natural-looking makeup.

Michele and David were married under ivy and rustic blooms in soft shades of green. “The ceremony was so special,” Michele says. “We decided to have a family friend, Rob Gordon, officiate our wedding. The Gordons have known David's family for many years, and it was truly such a personal, heartfelt ceremony. Rob really knocked it out of the park.”
In lieu of traditional escort cards, Michele and David guided their guests to their tables with fragrant bunches of dried lavender tied together with lengths of ivory ribbon. The bundles were displayed on a burlap backdrop that captured the newlyweds’ rustic-chic vision.
Michele and David said their “I dos” on Blooming Hill Farm’s lush green pasture, then whisked guests off to a Sperry tent for the reception. A live band provided a lively soundtrack for cocktail hour, while twinkling bistro lights illuminated the expansive space as the sun set over the rolling hills.
To achieve a rustic bohemian feel for the reception, GBC Style Flowers adorned the burlap-lined tabletops with vintage-inspired bud vases overflowing with burgundy and white wildflowers.
To keep their younger guests entertained, Michele and David created activity kits for them to enjoy during the reception. Attached to a classic clipboard, the kits included games, coloring pages and crayons to keep kids busy during cocktail hour, dinner and the traditional bits of the reception.
After dinner, Michele and David took to the dance floor, where they shared their first dance as newlyweds. Their guests then joined them, transitioning the elegant soiree into a full-blown dance party.
After dinner, Michele and David treated their guests to a decadent slice of wedding cake. The three-tier confection crafted by Lulu’s Bakery featured combed buttercream, cascades of ivy and ivory lisianthus to achieve an elegant-meets-rustic feel.
At the end of the night, Michele and David surprised guests with a stunning fireworks display that captured the event's vibrancy and energy.
