A Rustic, Country Wedding at Orlando's Event and Conference Centers in Maryland Heights, Missouri

Inspired by their love for the outdoors and hunting Melissa Sturgeon (30 and a substitute teacher) and Joe Keown (31 and an owner of a drain-cleaning business) had a rustic country wedding. “Joe is very much a country boy who hunts almost everything and also loves to fish. I grew up loving the outdoors partly because my dad is a hunter also,” Melissa says. "I thought the country theme really fit us, and it meant a lot to me." We love that the couple fully embraced their theme with cowboy boots and gun-shell boutonnieres. Kim Brannan from Stems added a little romance to the rustic boutonnieres with blush roses and created Melissa’s beautiful textured blush and green bouquet as well. The day started with a traditional Catholic ceremony at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Florissant, Missouri, which they chose because it’s the church Melissa grew up in. The day ended with a dance party at Orlando's Event and Conference Centers in Maryland Heights, Missouri. There are so many details we love—see them all, beautifully captured by Lisa Wassilak from Forever Yours Images, below. A tip from Melissa: “It takes a lot of time and hard work to plan a wedding, and in the end it's all worth it. Savor every moment and implant it into your memory, because it truly is the best day of your life and you'll never get to do it over again.”
