A Rustic Country Wedding at Roy's Barn and Lodge in Bozeman, Montana

Stephanie Sanchez (30 and an accountant) and Garrett Thomsen (31 and an investment banker) met in preschool, but didn’t really notice each other until third grade. “Garrett had a kid-sized crush on me, and must have gotten nervous or something, because his way of hitting on me was to tell me the truth about Santa,” Stephanie says. “Thanks a lot!” They crushed on each other until they decided to date their senior year of high school. After dating for 10 years, Garret proposed. He took her to the Parsons Garden in Seattle and dropped to one knee. “I still don't think she remembers exactly how I proposed, and I'm sure she never even looked at the ring before she said yes,” Garrett says. “It's certainly a very special memory for me.” Although the couple now lives in Seattle, they met in Montana and loved the idea of introducing their friends to where they came from. They easily chose Roy’s Barn and Lodge for its rustic country vibe. “I had always dreamed of a barn dance as the culmination of my wedding day,” Stephanie says. “Every inspiration came from the barn.” They used shades of pink, purple, blue, gray, brown and white for their eclectic color palette and completed the look with rustic details such as bandanas and burlap. They hired a yellow school bus to bring guests to and from the wedding site, which also took them to downtown Bozeman after the wedding for an epic after party. The wedding favors were a bundle of Montana honey sticks and a hand-tied fly made by Garrett’s father in honor of being avid fly fishermen.
