A Rustic Desert Wedding at 29 Palms Inn in Twentynine Palms, California

As lovers of the outdoors, Kristine de Leon and Mike Allen wed at their favorite natural destination in Southern California: Joshua Tree National Park. A colorful invitation with a custom map, designed by Kristine, introduced the wedding to guests. The day started with a traditional ceremony at a Catholic church, complete with four flower girls in white dresses. The reception took place in the picturesque desert. "For our color palette, we chose jewel tones to reflect the vibrant colors of the desert," Kristine says. Succulents showed up in the centerpieces, Kristine's headpiece, the bridal party's bouquets and the groomsmen's corsages. They also decorated the three-tier fondant wedding cake. Mike wore a tan suit to complement the wedding's jewel tones, and Kristine wore simple A-line dress. Blankets kept guests warm in the chilly desert air, and everyone took home personalized koozies. The night ended with corn hole, a giant Connect Four game and life-size Jenga.
Our favorite #MakeTradition moment: Even though they had a Catholic church wedding with Filipino traditions, Kristine and Mike also said their vows under the stars during the reception.
