Collin Chase (29 and in sales) and Adrienne Chase (31 and a photographer) were high school sweethearts and dated for 12 years before getting engaged. Collin and Adrienne were spending a night out in downtown Detroit, MI when they decided to go ice skating at Campus Martius. There, at midnight, Collin surprised Adrienne and got down on one knee and proposed. With their joint love for the outdoors, Collin and Adrienne decided to have their wedding at Stony Creek Metropark in Shelby Charter Township. MI. "The tall white pine trees that build a cathedral in the middle of the woods, with shafts of light beaming through the trees was perfect for our ceremony," Adrienne said. A trolley took guests from the ceremony in the forest to the lakefront cocktail hour and tent reception. Their color palette was cream, blush pink and gray. Centerpieces made up of peonies, roses and hydrangeas decorated the reception with a soft, romantic touch. Many details were DIY including the wooden advice cards and the Mr. and Mrs. chair tags. Guests celebrated the new couple with a night of dancing and an after party at a local brewery. "We wanted the whole day to be a fun experience and an adventure for our guests," Adrienne shared. With the perfect mix of rustic and romantic decor, Collin and Adrienne's wedding made for a modern day fairytale.
