A Rustic, Elegant Wedding at Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine, California
"The two words I used to describe the look for the wedding were 'romantic' and 'classic,' " says Megan Parker (24 and a mortgage banker), who wed Maxwell Britton (21 and in sales) at the lush Strawberry Farms Golf Club—home of a stately, rustic red barn in Irvine, California, where the couple held their reception. Megan and Maxwell are no strangers to modern romance, since they had met on dating app Tinder two years earlier and began a long-distance courtship—complete with hours-long Skype calls, regular flights to visit each other, and Maxwell eventually making the move to Orange County, California. Knowing that Megan had always loved the idea of having a wedding at Strawberry Farms, Maxwell proposed with a single long-stemmed red rose on the same grassy corner where they would get married in front of 170 friends and family members. Sticking to a subtly elegant palette of pale pink and black, bridesmaid bouquets were made with dense hydrangeas and ranunculus, while Megan's bouquet held roses, peonies and pink and white ranunculus. "I didn't want the flowers to overpower anything, but they were bold enough to not get lost in photos," Megan says. Carrying the theme of rustic romance to the outdoor ceremony, glass-jarred bouquets were hung with pale pink ribbon from curved plant poles lined the aisle, and the couple exchanged vows under a colorful flower arch. The reception was in a beautiful red barn, its lofty ceiling outfitted with dramatic white draping. "Walking into that room was dreamy," says Megan, who recently moved to Tennessee with Maxwell. "Being married doesn't feel too much different from dating, other than living together. We still make time for fun dates and movie nights. We now live in Nashville, so it's been an adjustment moving to a place where neither of you has your friends. It's made our relationship stronger to rely on each other." —Carolyn Meers
