A Rustic Elegant Wedding at the County Line Orchard in Hobart, Indiana

When Meg (30 and an attorney) attended her cousin's wedding, she had no idea that her future husband, Greg (32 and a driver) was the best man. "We started dating soon after and he proposed on the Fourth of July during the fireworks at my family lake house," Meg explains. For their spring wedding in northwest Indiana, the couple exchanged vows at St. John the Evangelist Church and later celebrated with 150 guests at the County Line Orchard. "We wanted a unique wedding venue with a rustic, yet elegant, feel," Meg explains. "The orchard definitely fit the bill." The couple's rustic reception featured a color palette of blue, ivory and brown with the occasional unexpected element -- like lantern centerpieces in lieu of traditional flowers. "Our table numbers, menus and escort cards were on burlap-colored paper to stick with the theme," the bride says. "And since the weather was perfect, we had the barn door open to the patio outside throughout the entire reception. While they weren't enjoying the family-style dinner or dancing, guests gathered on the patio for a bonfire complete with s'mores and apple cider donuts. "The element of our day that best reflected us as a couple was the food," Meg says. "We love to cook and eat great, food, so it was important that the food served at our wedding was delicious." As far as wedding-day advice goes for future brides: "Review your contracts carefully and make sure all of your vendors know what they need to do," Meg says. "We found out when we arrived at our reception that the end time of our event was actually the time everything needed to be packed up. This meant we accidentally booked our DJ for longer than we needed him for!"
