Gloria Pierce-Garcia (left, 31 and a nurse) and Jill Pierce-Garcia’s (39 and a teacher) wedding cake topper says it all: “Today I marry my best friend.” The couple exchanged their vows at Tre Bella, a rustic, elegant venue in Mesa, Arizona. “The owner, Kim, and and all her staff were so open and welcoming to us. And the fact that they were an all-inclusive venue was very appealing. It was the first and only venue we looked at,” Jill says. She and Gloria chose not to see each others outfits before their wedding day, but they matched each other perfectly. Jill wore a simple ivory tailored suit and Gloria wore a strapless, mermaid-style wedding dress with a corset back. To complete their styles, both brides wore gray Converse sneakers with rainbow laces. Since Jill and Gloria are both from Arizona, they included succulents in their floral arrangements, from Gloria’s bouquet to the boutonnieres. “We thought it was a special touch,” Jill says. “And it looked cool.” Instead of a traditional bouquet toss, the couple created a meaningful moment when Gloria presented her bouquet to Jill’s mother. “We dedicated ‘Remember When’ by Alan Jackson to my parents, who celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary the weekend before,” Jill says. When planning a wedding, the brides offer their own advice: “Do what feels right for you and your needs. Remember, you are in this together. Take time to relax, and enjoy every moment. It will be the best day of your life.” See the sweet wedding details, captured by Blue Hills Photo, below.

Gloria and Jill’s cake topper says it all: “Today I marry my best friend” simply sums up the joy they felt on their wedding day.
The brides got married in gray Converse sneakers, complete with rainbow shoe laces. Their shoes reflected their laid-back, casual nature, which showed in their wedding atmosphere.
Gloria’s bouquet consisted of vibrant blue delphiniums with blue and white hydrangeas, green succulents and eucalyptus.

The Phoenix LGBT Bridal and Honeymoon Expo helped Gloria and Jill find their wedding venue. “We fell in love with how versatile Tre Bella in Mesa, Arizona, was. It was both rustic yet extremely elegant at the same time. The owner, Kim, and all her staff were so open and welcoming to us,” Jill says.

Gloria made the baskets for the flower girls’ petals. She decorated silver pails with white and purple flowers to match the flower girls’ gray dresses with sequined flowers.
The reception at Tre Bella maintained the simple yet elegant wedding style. For the decor, “we picked various shades of dark blues, dusty purples, grays and blacks, so we weren’t stuck with one color scheme,” Jill says.
Gloria and Jill shared their first dance to “She Keeps Me Warm” by Mary Lambert. “The song couldn’t have been more perfect,” Jill says.
Gloria and Jill opted for their favorite vegan bakery, Nami, to make their wedding cake. The three-tier square wedding cake, accented with glittery black ribbon, alternated carrot cake with vida dolce cake with cream cheese frosting. The couple loved it!
