Kate McCarthy (30 and a maternity nurse) and Alan Szulwach (30 and a police officer) didn't want a typical fall wedding with a red, orange and brown color palette. Instead they embraced a farm theme with rustic elements and a color palette of sage green, ivory, and peach. The bridesmaids carried simple, elegant bouquets of ivory hydrangea, while Kate carried a soft bouquet filled with ivory and blush roses and lilies. In keeping with the light, bright color scheme, the bridesmaids wore sage green gowns, which complemented Kate's Allure ivory lace gown. After an outdoor ceremony under a large tree, the reception was held in a large white tent, decorated with Kate's DIY projects: burlap bunting banners, tables numbers, and mercury glass vases and votives.
