A Rustic Wedding at Kinney Bungalow at Sunset Farms in Narragansett, Rhode Island

Ashley and Lyndsey's summery wedding brought together two totally different vibes -- farm and beach -- and totally made it work. Ashley proposed to Lyndsey after they dated for six months before getting engaged. "We went to the beach super late one night in August, it was a full moon and the waves were huge. I nervously held the ring in my sweatshirt pocket and asked her under the stars. It was awesome," says Ashley. Even though the couple chose to get married on a farm their love of the water and beach proposal influenced much of their wedding decor. With color palette of blue, green, navy and purple they tied together rustic and nautical elements into the wedding day. They were married at Kinney Bungalow and Sunset farms and they chose it because of the amazing sunsets. "Kinney Bungalow is a gorgeous, historic building owned by the town and sits on a beautiful working farm. True to its name, the sunsets there are incredible and we had awesome light for our pictures!" says Ashley. The wedding day was filled with a lot of love and personalized details. The couple wrote the ceremony themselves and it was officiated by a close friend, who happened to be the first openly lesbian state senator. "The ceremony reflected the love we feel for one another and the gratitude we had for our friends and family and their support for our union," says Ashley.

Bridal Updo and Bird Tattoo
Ashley took the initiative and proposed to Lyndsey on the beach. Both brides wear complementary princess cut engagement rings as a symbol of their commitment.
While both brides opted to wear different strapless dresses their shoes matched. “We actually both wore the same white sandals from Clarks because fancy high heels plus an outdoor summer farm wedding don't really mix,” says Ashley.
Both brides carried bouquets filled with hydrangeas and other wild flowers to complement the rustic look of the wedding. The colors of the hydrangeas perfectly fit the farm meets beach vibe they want to achieve for their wedding decor.

Romantic Personalized Wedding Ceremony
Rustic wooden wedding signs pointed the way to the ceremony and reception. “We used big tin ice buckets and filled them with beach sand to hold down signs,” says Ashley. rn
Light Blue Place Settings
The couple decided to hold the reception indoors and the historic Kinney Bungalow was the perfect backdrop for a rustic wedding.
The menu matched the casual vibe of the wedding with comfort food favorites like mini apple grilled cheese sandwiches and signature lemonade cocktails.
Instead of a multi-tier wedding cake, Lyndsey and Ashley opted for delicious cupcakes. “We had a cupcake tower with incredible cupcakes that people raved about forever,” says Ashley.

The exit was made extra-special. Bride Ashley’s brother played on the guitar as the couple exited the reception venue at the end of the night.
