A Rustic Garden Wedding at Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge, California

Chelsea Hodges (26, a student) and Jaron Halmy (32, a filmmaker) started dating while they were both volunteer counselors at the YMCA camp in their area. Two years later on the beach in San Clemente, California, Jaron was showing Chelsea a video of their kitten playing with an object. Once Chelsea discovered that their kitten was playing with a ring box, she turned to Jaron, who had kneeled down on one knee with an engagement ring. The couple chose to have their wedding at Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge, California, not only because of the beautiful surrounding flowers that served as natural decorations, but also because of the nearby Oak Forest are that was a reminder of the camp where they met. "We chose this location because we fell in love with the Oak Forest for our ceremony as it reminded us of our roots with summer and winter camps," Chelsea recalls. The couple especially loved the rose garden because of the naturally beautiful floral elements and elegant decor that would be the perfect place to have their reception. Through using as earth tone palette for centerpieces, wedding attire and even their invitations, Chelsea and Jaron were able to achieve their rustic outdoor wedding.
