A Rustic Glam Wedding at Muse Event Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota
Despite a move to California while planning their Minnesota wedding, Lindsay Nakfoor (27 and a senior financial analyst) and Nathan McCurren (28 and an MBA candidate at the University of California at Berkeley) pulled off their rustic November nuptials without a hitch. "We chose Minneapolis because it's the place where we met and fell in love," Lindsay says. "The city holds such a special place in our hearts." And while many couples spend months searching for their dream venue, Lindsay and Nathan quickly agreed that the new Muse Event Center downtown was the perfect space for a celebration. "Don't get me wrong, there are some awesome places to get married in Minneapolis, but Muse is special," Lindsay says of the first venue they toured. "It didn't have that ballroom feel to it, plus it served as a blank canvas." With the help of Bungalow 6 Designs, the couple drew inspiration from their shared love of the outdoors to transform their airy venue into a rustic glam celebration. Shades of ivory, silver, green and gold added to the natural aesthetic of the design, while kraft paper table runners and birch-themed details (including a tiered, tree-inspired cake) lent just the right amount of rustic flair. Lush green and white hydrangea centerpieces even served as the focus of each farmhouse table, but one detail hanging high above the reception stole the show. "My favorite part of the room was the birch branch installation that hung from the ceiling," Lindsay says. "It made such a statement and set the tone for the entire room." One stylistic detail we especially loved? Lindsay's "something borrowed": A white, cathedral-length veil given to her by her older sister. Not to mention the textured green bow ties worn by Nathan's groomsmen—a group that included their young son, Aiden. "He even wore a gray, three-piece suit to match his dad," Lindsay says.
