A Rustic, Glam Wedding at Ribault Club in Jacksonville, Florida

Pops of blush and gold gave Heather Thomas (27 and a merchandising assistant) and Michael Speicher-Harris’s (27 and in the US Navy) rustic outdoor wedding a classic twist. Heather had always envisioned an outdoor wedding that was both serene and rustic. The Ribault Club provided the perfect backdrop, with the added bonus of an old-world Florida vibe. A stunning oak tree and farm tables helped bring the day’s organic atmosphere to life, while soft pink details, gold accents and warm candlelight upped the romance factor. Heather chose to do a soft, low bun so her hair was up and out of her face in preparation for an outdoor evening in Florida. A gold foil ikat pattern reflected the bride’s dress and set a glam tone for the day. Honoring tradition, the couple had a classic military exit. The recessional included the iconic sword arch performed by a few of Michael’s fellow service members. Neutral linen napkins, vintage-washed chargers and a menu outfitted with a leaf motif played into the wedding’s rustic nature. Candles scattered throughout the centerpieces cast a romantic glow after sunset. These, along with Italian string lights, illuminated the dance floor as guests boogied into the night. After dinner they feasted on a three-tier vanilla, carrot and lemon with blueberry buttercream confection topped with fresh blooms. Guests walked away with Spanish wedding cookies (Heather loves baked goods) and mini milk jars filled with Bailey’s Irish cream.
