A Rustic Glam Wedding at The Barn on Belmont in Athens, Georgia

Shannon Adams (28 and a realtor at Funari Realty) and Robbie Burrell (27 and a supervisor at Baker Paint & Contracting) immediately fell in love with The Barn on Belmont’s rustic building and sprawling grounds and decided they had to be married there. They stuck to a rustic glam theme to play up the venue’s rural charm and polished it off with some romance and glamour. A palette of pastels, mainly ivory, blush, nudes and touches of aquamarine complimented the natural beauty of the setting without overpowering it. JL Designs provided the floral arrangements—a stunning abundance of roses, ranunculus, peonies, lace dusty miller and baby’s breath. Old-fashioned, rustic touches (think: vintage outdoor furniture decor and centerpieces of antique-inspired lanterns, mercury glass votives and painted mason jar vases) added vintage-chic whimsy, while the bride stood out in an in-vogue Maggie Sottero mermaid gown in blush. As one of the flower girls, Shannon’s daughter, Ava, wore a gorgeous handmade, vintage-style tutu dress from Etsy and a lace and pearl headband. Although their wedding was a lavish, rustic glam affair, both Shannon and Robbie never lost sight of the most important thing: “Remember the wedding is just one day and that your love for each other is forever," Shannon says. "That is all that really matters in the end.”
