A Rustic Indoor Wedding at Rock Springs Center in Greenville, North Carolina

Ashley McRoy (28 and a model) and James Disney (29 and a lineman) were both pleasantly surprised after being set up by a mutual friend. Their relationship quickly developed but Ashley was still in shock when James proposed after a motorcycle ride to a local reservoir. "We sat looking out at the water talking about the future in deep thought and I actually thought he was going to break up with me!" says Ashley. "But out of nowhere, he got down on one knee in front of me and presented the most beautiful Victorian style marquise shaped Neil Lane diamond ring I had ever seen!" Their two-year engagement quickly turned stressful when the bride was diagnosed with cancer for the second time. James never left her side and the pair decided to move to Ashley's hometown of Winterville, North Carolina before planning their local celebration. Guests were invited to witness their meaningful ceremony at Winterville Free Will Baptist Church followed by a rustic indoor reception at Rock Springs Center in Greenville, North Carolina. "I was fortunate enough to have been invited to share my story of being a model, how I met James and surviving cancer twice on the show 'Say yes to the dress,'" says Ashley. "The wonderful staff helped me pick my dream Henry Roth wedding gown that was so kindly given to me!" Ashley combined her favorite color, teal, with her love of nature, for a rustic deep blue, brown and green color palette. Branches with moss, twinkle lights and bird accents added to the woodsy ambiance. "Every part of our day was special, not just because of the obvious but because of the depth of our story and everyone being touched by it," says Ashley. "Every moment you could just feel was wrapped in love and a special presence, as most knew I wasn't even supposed to be alive!"
