A Rustic, Natural Wedding at the Inn at Mountain View Farm in East Burke, Vermont
With its acres of lush rolling hills and mountainous landscape, the beauty of Vermont provided endless inspiration for Amy Schoon (28 and a teacher) and Tyler Listenik’s (30 and a farmer) midsummer nuptials. Set in the Northeast Kingdom, the Inn at Mountain View Farm in East Burke, Vermont, provided the charming atmosphere the couple were after, complete with a quaint barn for the reception and a serene hilltop ceremony spot boasting spectacular views. Paying tribute to the scenic setting, Amy and Tyler chose a palette of rich earth-tone hues with pops of peach and yellow to capture the cheerfulness of the summer season. Rustic wood elements were incorporated throughout—from the handcrafted wedding arbor to the tree-themed wood-burned table names—while the menu, the flowers and even the favors packed plenty of local flair. Fairy lights hung from the rafters of the barn filled the historic space with a warm, inviting ambiance, while elements like lawn games during cocktail hour gave the day a laid-back feel. Family played in an important role in several of the wedding’s details. Tyler’s sister, a florist and owner of Twigs et Fleurs, created all the bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces, and Amy’s aunt whipped up a naked strawberry shortcake wedding cake. And having their own maple sugaring business, Amy and Scott guests bottles of maple syrup straight from their sugarhouse.
