A Rustic, Outdoor Wedding at a Private Home in North Yarmouth, Maine

Even when she was a little girl, Megan Williams (30 and brand director at Marine Layer) knew she wanted to be married at her family’s 200-year-old farmhouse in scenic North Yarmouth, Maine. So when Jordan Savage (31 and partner at E-Pantry) popped the question, finding a venue for the late-summer nuptials was easy for the San Francisco–based couple.

Naturally, the pair hosted their ceremony and reception outdoors. The lush, expansive fields and wild gardens served as inspiration for much of the decor, with Jordan’s mother, the force behind Seagrass Florals, creating showstopping bouquets and floral arrangements that were organic and utterly romantic. “The flowers and gardens made the event. They were huge, wild and beautiful,” Megan says. “I had no idea what Seagrass’s whole vision was until I showed up the morning of the wedding—and it exceeded my wildest dreams.”

Personal touches, from the custom menu to the groomsmen’s tailor-made bow ties to the Toots ice cream sundae bar, marked the day. And Celtic traditions, a nod to Jordan’s Scottish roots, were incorporated throughout the ceremony, from his kilt to a hand-fasting tradition and bagpipes. After dinner and drinks, local bluegrass band Jerks of Grass got guests dancing and carried the party late into the night, at which point the newlyweds and their guests indulged in homemade pizzas made in Megan’s father’s outdoor pizza oven. —Libby MacCarthy
