A Rustic, Outdoor Wedding at San Souci Farm in Sumter, South Carolina
Cale Yates (31 and in sales) and Joshua Yates (33 of Yates Lawn Care) took the outside space at San Souci Farm in Sumter, South Carolina using wildflowers, mason jars and burlap. "This venue is absolutely beautiful, very rustic and charming," Cale says. Megan Manus Photography captured the entire day, from the intimate pre-ceremony moments to the simple, dance-filled reception. Opting not to have a first look together, Cale and Joshua decided to meet each other, without seeing each other, to hold hands and pray together. They also shared the love notes they had written each other for their special day. "It was a very special time for us," Cale says. When it came to the wedding day fashions, they wanted to keep the looks simple using khaki and tiffany blue colors. "We wanted a simple but elegant look," Cale says. Cale wore a beautiful David's Bridal strapless ball gown with a ruched bodice and full tulle skirt. Her bridesmaids wore mismatched, knee-length dresses in tiffany blue; Joshua's groomsmen wore khaki suits and tiffany blue ties. One of the most beautiful elements of decor from Cale and Joshua's wedding was the tall wooden cross with wildflower accents that stood behind them as they said their "I dos," acting as a backdrop at their outdoor ceremony overlooking the surrounding landscape. The entire wedding was a direct reflection of Cale and Joshua. Cale even admits that Joshua played a heavy role in the wedding planning. "He pretty much planned the whole event," Cale says, "and it was perfect."
