A Rustic Purple and Orange Wedding at Soda Rock Winery in Healdsburg, California

Although there are plenty of winery weddings throughout the state of California, not many of them come in shades of orange and purple. From the orange calla lilies in most of the centerpieces and bouquets, to the purple dress that the Maid of Honor wore among the orange bridesmaid dresses, the couple’s unique color palette at the winery made a statement. “We got married in October (our favorite month) and decided on orange as the primary color,” Kaitlin says. “We wanted a secondary color to bring an extra “pop,” and my mother suggested purple.” For Kaitlin Johnson’s (27 and a recruiting coordinator) birthday every year, her and Rich Wilson (30 and a data architect) go wine tasting, and Soda Rock Winery in Healdsburg, California, became a favorite of theirs over the years. They were able to have their wedding ceremony in the rustic barn and the reception inside the elegant barrel room. Kai Squared planned the wedding day just right for the couple, and Christopher Cooke Photography brought the festivities to life through the camera lens. Since the couple had their wedding at a winery and enjoyed drinking wine themselves, they wanted to make sure the occasion was complete with a good selection of reds and whites for guests to enjoy. “Since we had a long engagement, we were able to collect six cases of wine from the Soda Rock family of wineries,” Kaitlin says. “We wanted our guests to be able to taste all the Soda Rock Winery and sister wineries had to offer.”
