After meeting in Austin, Texas, Lacy (27 and a pharmacist) and Matthew (26 and a financial consultant) dated long distance for years until they were both finally able to move to Houston. Not long after that, they got engaged on a beach in San Diego. “Matt popped the question at sunset on Coronado beach with a gorgeous Neil Lane ring!” says Lacy. They planned their navy and yellow country chic wedding in Texas Hill Country at the Old Glory Ranch in Wimberley, Texas. “We chose this location because I grew up in the Texas Hill Country and wanted to get married there in a country setting. The venue has both indoor and outdoor seating with the outdoor seating under beautiful chandeliers hanging in the giant oak trees. Spring in Texas usually brings bountiful amounts of wild flowers and our venue was filled with Texas Bluebonnets the day of our wedding!” says Lacy. They took advantage of the beautiful weather and rustic setting and held their cocktail hour outdoors under a covered patio. Lacy and Matthew’s wedding had Texas Hill Country written all over it. Drinks served during the cocktail hour included Texas Hill Country wine from the bride's hometown and Texas draft and bottled beer from Matt's hometown. As a fun detail to cap off the event: "We surprised our guests with a pair of miniature donkeys that were escorted around with baskets carrying bottled water and Houston bottled beer,” says Lacy.

Lacy and Matthew chose Old Glory Ranch because they wanted to get married in a country setting, and it was the perfect mix of elegant and classic Texas Hill Country.
The bride wore an ivory fit-and-flare lace wedding dress covered in beads, pearls and crystals. Lacy paired the classic gown with a scalloped veil with beading.

Lacy’s bridesmaids wore navy chiffon dresses. Each bridesmaid stood out by wearing a slightly different neckline and they paired the dresses with nude heels. Each bridesmaid carried a yellow bouquet.

Matthew’s groomsmen wore light gray tuxedos paired with brown leather heels. The groomsmen matched the groom except for their ties which were yellow with a touch of navy to fit the wedding color palette. The groomsmen also wore yellow craspedia boutonnieres.
An adorable ring bearer wore a white buttoned shirt paired with gray slacks, navy suspenders and a yellow and navy bow tie to match the groomsmen.
The bride carried a bright bouquet of yellow astilbe and white and yellow roses. The yellow astilbe gave the bouquet a just-picked wildflower look and matched the yellow and navy blue wedding color palette perfectly.

A chapel on the property set a country rustic vibe for the wedding ceremony. The altar was covered in ivory and green candles, a cast iron cross and cascading greenery.

The couple rented a pair of miniature donkeys to surprise their guests at cocktail hour.”We surprised our guests with a pair of miniature donkeys that were escorted around with baskets carrying bottled water and Houston bottled beer,” says Lacy.
Instead of a traditional wedding cake, the couple chose to split the look and flavor of the cake right down the middle. “After dinner, our guests enjoyed the 4 tier butter cream cake which was half triple chocolate espresso and half vanilla bean,” says Lacy.
