A Rustic, Romantic Wedding at Knowlton Mansion in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Elizabeth Kefal (28 and a marketing manager) and Justin Kefal (28 and an entrepreneur) drew inspiration from Elizabeth's small-farm upbringing and turned the space at the Knowlton Mansion in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, into a rustic and romantic wedding space. "The color palette was muted greens and blush, and the theme was rustic," Elizabeth says. "I wanted it to remind me of spring in the country where I grew up." Since Justin is from Germany, they knew they would be having guests from all over the world, and figured Philadelphia, where they lived together for six years, was the perfect city for their guests to enjoy. Kristin Speed Photography captured every beautiful moment from the traditional Catholic ceremony at St. Augustine's Church to the dance-filled reception. Keeping with the classic, rustic theme, Elizabeth wore a Cymbeline wedding dress with tiered lace and a relaxed mermaid-style silhouette. Fabufloras created lush bouquets using ivory and blush peonies, roses and astilbes for the wedding's flowers. Centerpieces included small arrangements of these flowers with surrounding tea-light candles and tall candelabras providing warm, romantic lighting in varying heights. Elizabeth and Justin wanted their world-traveling guests to feel at home while attending their Philadelphia wedding, so they gave them handmade favors as tokens of their appreciation. "Our favors were actually handmade goodies from my family," Elizabeth says. "We gave away homemade apple butter, my dad's famous dill pickles and lavender scented candles made by my sister."
