A Rustic, Romantic Wedding at Pavilion in the Pines in Lyndonville, Vermont

Ingrid Bengtson (31 and an architect) and Harry “Charlie” Reed (33 and a partner at Atlantic) drew on the character and beauty of Vermont’s natural landscape to execute their elegant yet pastoral design. From a metta meditation ceremony led by the groom’s sister to watercolor stationery that nodded to the bride’s love of birds, Ingrid and Harry personalized as many elements as possible. “We had a personal connection to every vendor we worked with,” Ingrid says. “I used to figure skate with our coordinator, and the cheese monger and photographer were high school friends of mine.” A “wedding bard” wielding a fiddle led guests to a forest clearing for cocktail hour, where they indulged in seasonal, local fare. Bundles of fresh eucalyptus filled the reception barn, while flickering candles and strands of string lights cast a warm, ambient glow. A first dance to Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy” kicked the evening’s festivities into high gear, and stacked tiers of local cheese made for a savory alternative to a classic wedding cake.
