A Rustic, Romantic Wedding at Silverleaf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona

Nicole Carpenter (25 and a medical aesthetician) and Derek Formsma (30 and a sales manager) toured Silverleaf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, with Derek’s family during a spontaneous layover in Arizona, and when it came time for them to choose a wedding venue, this place was on their minds. The rustic stone and stucco architecture and gorgeous desert scenery was perfect for their outdoor wedding, and it’s always sunny in Scottsdale. Imoni Events helped Nicole and Derek pull off an aura of comfortable elegance suitable for the venue's warm atmosphere. Butterfly Petals created the textured floral arrangements, including an amazing ceremony setup: shepherd hooks covered in eucalyptus (native to Arizona) and rose petals lining the aisle up to a garland and fabric-draped wooden arch. At the reception, the Main Squeeze brought the funk and got everyone out on the dance floor. They even got an encore at the end of the night. Another highlight? Nicole and Derek saw icebreaker opportunity in dinner: With a travel theme in mind, they had small-plate stations with dishes from Spain, Italy, Asia, Mexico, North America (including charcuterie famous from their hometown of Richmond, Virginia), and for dessert, and France (pastries and three flavors of the gorgeous ombre wedding cake); guests could mingle and try new foods.
