A Rustic Spring Wedding at Sunset Crest Manor in Chantilly, Virginia

Vanessa Miller (29 and a dog walker) and Justin Gerke (29 and a special education teacher) love to visit breweries together, and they wanted to pay homage to that at their wedding. As a result, they used tons of brewery paraphernalia in their rustic DIY decor. Dining tables at their Sunset Crest Manor reception in Chantilly, Virginia, were named after some of their favorite breweries, so the escort cards had the names of these breweries on them instead of table numbers. On each table, various glass beer bottles were painted turquoise and filled up with baby's breath and daisies to create the centerpieces. The flagstone mantle was decorated with a sign spelling out Vanessa and Justin's monogram in different beer bottle caps. Even the homemade wedding cake was a lemon dream beer cake—yum! This beer-themed decor set the tone for the rest of the rustic decor, which included the wood shutter escort card display and the string lights that illuminated the hall in addition to the wagon wheel chandelier. As a fun alternative to a traditional guest book, Vanessa and Justin wrote questions for their guests on chalkboard signs and placed them at every table. These included requests for future date ideas and names for their children. Guests wrote their answers on popsicle sticks that Vanessa and Justin collected to read and enjoy.
