A Rustic, Vintage Wedding at Barn at Cedar Grove in Greensburg, Kentucky

Joey Chickey (37 and in banking) and Andrea Chickey (37 and in design) both moved to Denver, CO without knowing anyone in the area. They decided to try their luck with online dating. When Joey saw Andrea wearing a red clown nose in her picture, he knew he had to ask her out on a date. About two years later, Joey surprised Andrea with a gift he had recently brought back from Kentucky with him. It was a his old high school letterman jacket. Andrea immediately put the jacket on and Joey asked how the pockets felt. When Andrea reached inside one of the pockets, she found a small ring box. Joey got down on one knee and proposed. Initially, Joey and Andrea wanted to get married by their new home in Colorado. Soon they decided, however, to have their wedding in Joey's home state of Kentucky where they could have the rustic wedding of their dreams. "We wanted something totally secluded and private, outdoors and surrounded by nature," Andrea says. They decided on the Barn at Cedar Grove in Greensburg, KY surrounded by farms and wooded areas. The ceremony was outdoors where guests sat on wooden pews and surrounding woods created an intimate environment. Their color palette was coral, blush and sage. To brighten up the barn reception, Andrea decided on brighter pigments of coral with vintage white vases for the centerpieces. Chandeliers and gold chiavari chairs created an elegant look. With only 82 guests, Joey and Andrea kept their wedding intimate and casual. They were able to have an entire weekend with their guests taking in the natural beauty of Kentucky. "We wanted to cherish memories with our loved ones over everything else," Andrea says.
