A Rustic, Vintage Wedding at Bedell Cellars in Cutchogue, New York

Crystal Marino (26 and a developmental-disabilities registered nurse) and Eric Lundstrom’s (29 and a sanitation worker) wedding was a rustic, chic affair with lots of personality. Wanting a venue that was more than your average ballroom, the couple started scouting out vineyards in the New York City area and quickly came across Bedell Cellars in Cutchogue, New York. The venue’s acres of lush vineyards, beautiful facilities and flexibility instantly won Crystal and Eric over. Drawing on the locale for inspiration, the couple dreamed up a rustic, vintage-inspired vision for the day and hunted down antiques and country-inspired details, like reclaimed doors, mason jars, skeleton keys and vases, that would give the day personal flair. For the flowers, the couple enlisted the help of Karen Lenahan Designs. Together they chose an array of classic blooms and delicate wildflowers that Lenahan transformed into romantic centerpieces, bouquets and boutonnieres with undeniable old-world charm. Black-iron lanterns and chandeliers lit up the open-air pavilion with warm, ambient light, and the addition of vintage glass medicine bottles, moss and pillar candles to the tables infused the decor with a whimsical feel. Catering by a Small Affair created a mouthwatering menu for cocktail hour and dinner, serving everything from ahi tuna tartare to molasses pulled pork and roasted tenderloin beef with dauphine potatoes. And DJ Trife kept guests glued to the dance floor with a set list of upbeat hits. A tip from Crystal: “Give yourself plenty of time and have fun planning, because the day really does fly. We had two years to plan our wedding and this allowed my husband and me to really enjoy the planning process.”
