With oversize windows, exposed brick and unfinished ceilings of the warehouse turned event space, its no wonder Anna Serpette (31 and a bookkeeper) and Brandon Serpette (28 and a landscaper) chose Day Block Event Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for their wedding. The couple combined their love for all things vintage, especially music, with the industrial feel of the venue for a rustic-meets-vintage vibe. Wedding planner Maddie Hughes from Ask for the Moon Events worked with Anna and Brandon to merge the two themes and create a stunning outcome. One of our favorite details is the absolutely amazing florals from Mickey O'Kane. He combined cabbage with wildflowers for a super-textured, colorful bridal bouquet, and brought the outside in with the sunflower altar decor and overgrown centerpieces. There are so many details we love about this sophisticated wedding. See them all, beautifully captured by Carina Photographics, below.

Anna carried a totally cool bouquet for her rustic, vintage wedding. Florist Mickey O'Kane included a cabbage along with more traditional dahlias, succulents, zinnias and wildflowers. We loved the pop of color and bold texture.
Brandon and the groomsmen wore rustic boutonnieres including succulents, cabbage and rosemary on their lapels. Brandon also had a fiddlehead fern to stand out from the other men.
The bridesmaids wore fuchsia infinity dresses for the rustic, vintage wedding. Anna and Brandon loved how each woman could wear the dress however she wanted because of the style for a uniform but personalized look. Brandon chose a blue suit modeled after Jack White’s style, and the groomsmen wore mix-and-match gray, charcoal or black suits.
Anna completed her simple modified A-line wedding dress with ornate shoes. She loved the white flower detailing and pearl accents that added a little vintage flair to her look.
Simple, Chic Day Block Wedding Ceremony
With the help of wedding planner Maddie Hughes from Ask for the Moon Events and florist Mickey O'Kane, Anna and Brandon exchanged vows between two lush, textured floral arrangements. We love the mix of yellow sunflowers with pink dahlias, red zinnias, burgundy coxcomb and plenty of textured greenery.
Wanting to add the lush garden feel to her look, Anna added succulents and mums to her braided updo.
Anna and Brandon chose the Day Block Event Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, because they loved its old industrial warehouse feel. “We loved the open layout and the rustic, vintage feel,” Anna says. “It had exposed brick walls and high ceilings.”
Anna and Brandon’s theme for their wedding was music, because it's such a big part of their lives. They had a DJ spin vinyl the whole night, and the table numbers were repurposed 45 rpm records.
Anna knew she wanted a fitted dress that she could still move around in. She found exactly what she was looking for at the Wedding Shoppe in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The cap sleeves, buttons down the back and ruched detailing were the perfect mix of simple and sophisticated.
