A Rustic, Vintage Wedding at Gloryview Farm in Wasilla, Alaska
As lifelong Alaskans, Charlee Laurie (19 and a nursing student) and Marc Robertson (20 and a law student) wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous setting they’ve been surrounded by every day. “Gloryview Farm in Wasilla, Alaska, had everything we desired in a venue,” Charlee says. “A view of the mountains, dead center in a luscious wooded area, perfect lighting and bursting with bright flowers—we couldn't have imagined a more incredible spot to say ‘I do!’ ” Using the natural surroundings as inspiration, Charlee and Marc kept their palette neutral and added accents through bold purple florals. “On our drives through the valley, Marc and I always remark on how striking it is against the natural backdrop,” Charlee says. Florist Alaska Knit Nat created all the stunning arrangements, and wedding planners from Toast of the Town ensured all the details flawlessly came together. “They were a huge help in narrowing down my DIY crafts, keeping me on track and creating the whimsical, romantic wedding I would ramble on about during our meetings,” Charlee says. One of our favorite details was the ultra-personalized wedding ceremony. After meeting in a public-speaking class as teenagers, Marc spent a few months delivering Charlee coffee with poems written on the cups to win her over. In honor of their history with java, Marc came up with the idea of exchanging sips of coffee made with their French press during the ceremony. “I was a little hesitant at first, but I loved the throwback to the start of our relationship,” Charlee says. “It ended up being so sweet, and everyone got a kick out of it.” There are so many details we love about this wedding!
