A Rustic Waterfront Wedding at Dillman's Bay Resort in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin
Alise Wasserburger (29, and in real estate) and Michael Bagguley (32, and a scientist) planned a rustic waterfront wedding along Dillman's Bay Resort in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin. The open area provided the perfect outdoor space for the natural feel Alise and Michael sought out for their wedding day. By pulling in details from their surroundings, including seasonal local wildflowers, birch branches for the ceremony archway and mason jar centerpieces wrapped in burlap, the couple showcased their focus on earthy elements. “ We told the owner of the local nursery that we wanted what was in season, we didn’t actually know what we were getting but they ended up being beautiful, ” Alise says.
Alise and Michael also put a twist on age-old traditions, by skipping the bouquet toss and the formal cutting of the cake. Instead, they opted for a dance routine and an assortment of pies. They used a boat paddle for a guest sign-in and strung the reception tent with lights. From the dance floor, guests could see the waterfront as the sun set and the party continued.
