A Rustic Wedding at Confluence Resort in Hico, West Virginia
Megan Miles (27 and a registered nurse) and John Halstead (31 and a UPS driver) stayed true to their West Virginia roots and had a mountaintop wedding on a beautiful fall day. They chose Confluence Resort in Hico, West Virginia, as their venue because of its natural beauty and how close it was to the spot where John proposed to Megan. Plus, the resort had an outdoor stone patio overlooking the nearby mountains, which is where Megan and John had their ceremony. The entryway to the woodsy reception area was marked by a rustic wooden arch for Megan's grand entrance. After a heartwarming ceremony, Megan and John invited their guests to celebrate with them at a nearby tent. As wedding favors, they gave their guests mason jars with chalkboard labels so that they could write their names on them and use them during cocktail hour! They also treated their guests to a variety of cupcakes displayed on a table with a sign that read, "And they lived happily ever after." For his wedding day, John wore a three-piece khaki suit with a coral tie and a coral rose boutonniere. The bridesmaids wore dark coral dresses in different styles. Megan wore a pretty A-line gown with lace appliques. "Growing up, I never wore white dresses because I wanted to save that for my wedding day," Megan says. It was worth the wait.
