A Rustic Wedding at DC Estate Winery in South Beloit, Illinois
Everything about Melissa Wright (24 and an account manager) and Thomas Huiner's (23 and an associate consultant) wedding at the DC Estate Winery was rustic chic, from the open, airy venue to the antler-adorned centerpieces. In keeping with the venue's Tuscan-inspired architecture, the couple planned a chic fete that began with them exchanging vows in an outdoor ceremony under a stone arch. After saying "I do," the pair then moved with their guests to the winery's indoor pavilion for a night of drinks, dinner and dancing. In addition to the natural scenery of the space, shades of berry and gray were paired with lush arrangements of garden roses, scabiosa pods and seeded eucalyptus for a look that was equally elegant and laid-back. "We didn't do much since the reception venue didn't need a lot of decoration in order to be breathtaking," Melissa says. As for that wedding dress? It's an Essense of Australia design that Melissa first spotted on Pinterest. "I came across it so many times and was just in love with it," she says of the white lace gown. "A lot of people recommended the Crystal Bride in Geneva and the store just happened to carry it." As the night came to a close, guests dined on barbecue (the couple's favorite) and were treated to frequent updates on the status of their city's beloved hockey team. "We hired a fantastic DJ from a local company," Melissa says. "He was great at keeping us updated on the Chicago Blackhawks score and playing Chelsea Dagger when we won."
