A Rustic Wedding at Kazimierz World Wine Bar in Scottsdale, Arizona

When Liz Pimentel (26 and a cake decorator) became a regular at the dance studio where Jerry Duke (40 and a software engineer) was an instructor, he asked her to help him teach lessons. Once they began frequently dancing together, their romance picked up in tempo. They got married at their home parish, St. Timothy’s, and hosted a reception at one of their favorite spots, Kazimierz World Wine Bar in Scottsdale, Arizona. “We loved the food, wine and old world charm of the place,” says Liz. The couple ran with the ambiance, and used a color palette of fiery red, orange, copper and brown to create a vintage vibe. Inspired by movie classics “Moulin Rouge” and the party scene in “Chocolat,” the couple invited the Hot Club of Phoenix band to play gypsy jazz all night as guests dined on an assortment of small plates. As a pastry chef, Liz made chocolate truffles filled with chili-chai and mint ganaches as a personal thank you from the couple’s home to their guests.
