“My wedding style was based on four things,” Alexis Rhodes (22 and a student) says of her wedding to Brady Boehl (25 and an insurance salesman). “Greenery, soft lighting, anything metal and rusty, neutral colors.” Their natural, rustic wedding in Cuero, Texas, began with a ceremony at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, which they both attend together, followed by a reception at Lindenau Dance Hall, where tents spread outside allowed the couple to accommodate their 500 guests. Soft pink hues, peach and champagne with string lights and drapery throughout the venue created a romantic, rustic vibe. Alexis’ lace wedding dress evoked a complementary vintage style: “I love the vintage look, and to me, all the lace captured that perfectly.” Texas Rhythm DJ got guests dancing, and helped create a special moment for Alexis and Brady. “One of my favorite parts in the night was our dance together,” Alexis says. “We didn’t have the romantic dance most people expect, but that’s just us. We incorporated our friends and sang the whole thing.” Her advice to future brides is that “when something doesn’t go right the day of the wedding, the only person that will know is you. Some things don’t go as planned, but it’s okay. No one knows but you.”

Alexis carried a lush, asymmetrical bouquet including soft peach roses, white wax flowers and greens. “I chose any white flowers we could find with hints of champagne roses and very soft pinks. Oh, and lots of baby’s breath,” the bride says.

“I was very laid-back on choosing bridesmaid and groomsmen attire,” Alexis says. “I loved not having the stress of picking out specifics.” The bridesmaids wore blue dresses, and the groomsmen wore gray suits with blue ties.
The bride knew exactly what she wanted in her wedding dress: lace sleeves and a low-cut back. “I love the vintage look, and to me, all the lace captured that perfectly,” Alexis says.

The groom wore a gray seersucker suit with a paisley blue tie and a boutonniere that consisted of a single leaf and baby’s breath.
Alexis and Brady’s wedding ceremony was held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church where they both attend. “We are very devoted to our faith and feel so honored to have been married there.”
Alexis and Brady hosted their reception at Lindenau Dance Hall in Cuero, Texas, and set up tents outside the venue to accommodate all their guests. The vintage china used for the reception dinner was the same china that the groom’s parents used at their wedding.

The wedding cake was a six-tier white cake with subtle texture and a short cascade of greenery with white flowers and baby’s breath. The cake topper was a custom birch wood “Mr. and Mrs. Boehl.”
The groom’s cake was a tiered display of Rice Krispies Treats -- the groom’s favorite. The couple added paper hearts and shapes to accent the teal dessert display.
