A Rustic Wedding at Pine Creek Sporting Club in Okeechobee, Florida

From the mixe-lantern accents to the rocking chairs at their ceremony, everything about Kayla King (23 and a concierge at Pine Creek Sporting Club) and Calvin King (25 and a mechanic) was simple and rustic. Photography by Neswick was there to capture every detail of the day, which started with an outdoor waterfront ceremony and ended with an all-white reception in Pine Creek Sporting Club’s stables. Susan Bourdeau, the venue’s lodge manager, helped Kayla and Calvin fill their wedding with rustic charm. Vintage-style metal lanterns in dark neutral hues lined the aisle and topped each white-linen-covered table at the reception. The candlelit centerpieces were also surrounded by a bed of moss for a natural touch. “Susan did an absolutely amazing job making sure everything was perfect,” Kayla says. “I could never thank her enough for making my day so special and so stress free.” One notable detail at the reception was the couple’s wedding cake. The team at Cake-Zilla helped Kayla and Calvin complement their theme with a spin on a classic white confection. Two of the four tiers were covered with a fun ruffle detail that also matched her Alfred Angelo wedding dress. The cake was also topped with a personalized rhinestone-accented “K,” for the couple's initial. Kayla shares a tip: “The only advice I can give to future couples is to love each other through the process. Planning and hosting a wedding is a lot of stress and hard work. It can cause headaches. Be there for each other; share your thoughts and ideas . Also, let your family and friends help.”
